Choose the program asset
- Confirm the repository owner is
FelipePrado0and the project isgow3_pc. - Read the release notes and known issues. Expand Assets if GitHub collapses the package list.
- Choose the ZIP for Windows or AppImage for Linux. “Source code” archives are for developers and are not the packaged launcher.
- Download the corresponding
.sha256file if you want to check the downloaded file's integrity. Follow the installation guide for your platform.
Verify a Windows package hash
In PowerShell, inside the download folder, calculate the ZIP digest and compare it with the release's checksum file:
Get-FileHash .\gow3-windows.zip -Algorithm SHA256This release’s Windows asset SHA-256 value is:
41463b8dc4a2d66375f37f20c20d08c1dcc9260df48ef4dcb4911be0daade218Use the hash for the exact release you downloaded. A matching hash confirms that the bytes match that release metadata; it does not prove software is harmless or suitable for your system.
Verify a Linux package hash
Download the AppImage and its matching checksum file from the same release, then run:
sha256sum -c gow3-x86_64.AppImage.sha256Expect the AppImage filename followed by OK. A failed check needs investigation before launch. Follow the Linux verification and launch steps →
Update without losing your progress
Close the game and back up saves before changing versions. On Windows, preserve the user folder beside the launcher. The maintainer documents Advanced → Check for updates in the Windows launcher. On Linux, download the newer AppImage; the Windows updater is unavailable there.

What changed in 2.5.0?
The 18 October release adds live engine frame-rate switching, including a 60 FPS workaround at progress blockers without restarting. It also expands keyboard and mouse controls. Read the reviewed 2.5.0 update note →

Earlier release: 2.4.1
The release replaces the launcher's title font with Cinzel Black under SIL OFL 1.1 and restores accents in several languages' headings. Its known issues carry over from 2.4.0. The release's smoke tests cover startup and packaging; they are not a guarantee of full gameplay on every GPU.
